Deads, also known as the undead, are slow, zombie-like soldiers in the Chaos military. While timid and usually quite expensive for their ability, Deads often make for good adversaries during longer encounters due to their poison-inducing weapons. They are the equivalent to the Archidon, though do less damage and have more health, range and poison if researched.

In Stick War: Legacy, Deads were greatly diversified, with the basic Dead now becoming a slow melee unit. The previous incarnation of the Dead was rebranded as the Toxic Dead.

Appearance[]

Deads are hunchbacked, zombified stick figures with chunks of flesh ripped off their stomachs, exposing their guts (which are used as their projectiles). Their heads are also significantly decayed to the point that their brains are showing.

Description[]

Deads act as the chaos ground ranged units that throw their own guts as projectiles (These guts do bonus damage to armored units and have more range) but deal slightly lesser damage than an Archidon arrow. Deads are very slow, so they cannot kite.

Abilities[]

Poison Guts[]

While toggled on, Poison Guts causes the Dead's attacks to inflict Poison to enemies hit.

Notes[]

  • Deads are considered armored, despite having no armor and rotting, which should logically lessen their durability. The presence of armor could be because undead creatures can take more damage before dying, as they do not bleed or feel pain.
  • When a dead dies, his body liquifies and spills out, then the remaining solid bones fall to the ground.
  • One of the few units with Artwork.

Stick War: Legacy[]

In 1.9.30 update for Stick War: Legacy, the Deads would take on a much different identity than that of its Stick War II: Order Empire counterpart. Now they belonged to a massive undead army, played as melee units rather than ranged, and no longer did poison damage with each attack. They had lost all of their armor and and health and could be one-shotted by a single headshot from a Archidon.

Deads come in several variants with different abilities:

  • Toxic Deads behave like the original SW2 Dead, possessing a ranged attack that poisons targets hit.
  • Pouncer Deads are fast and can leap onto units to stun them.
  • Spearton Deads have greatly increased durability.
  • Massive Deads have increased size, durability, and damage.

When any type of Dead other than the Spearton Dead would be killed, they will instead drop to the ground and move by crawling, becoming slower but retaining the ability to attack. Depleting its health again kills it permanently. However, killing a Dead with a headshot bypasses its second form and kills it immediately.

Appearance[]

The dead looks exactly like the Stick War II: Order Empire Dead but is more thinner and taller, the body is more decayed and the guts are more exposed

Notes[]

  • Deads could pounce on your units causing stun.
    • This was removed for balancing reasons.
  • Deads can be strong in very large numbers.
    • However, crowd control abilities like blast and earthquake can just annihilate Deads
  • In Stick War: Legacy, Swordwraths, Miners, and Magikills wearing the Undead Skin will turn into Deads. Additionally, these units (as well as enemy Deads and Magikill Minions) killed by a player-controlled unit wearing an Undead skin will also turn into Deads.
  • A bug exists in the current version of Stick War: Legacy that prevents a Dead from receiving headshots unless it has taken at least one arrow previously; if the first arrow taken by the Dead is a headshot, it will instead register as a bodyshot.

Stick War III[]

In Stick War III, Deads retain their depiction as basic melee units that they gained in Stick War: Legacy, with their Stick War 2 depiction becoming the Toxic Dead. While still weak, they cost a minimal amount of gold and are very fast to train. Their strength comes in overwhelming numbers, something even Heavy units can struggle with in groups.

In addition to being trained, uncontrollable Deads can be produced by the following Enchantments, Upgrades, and Abilities:

  • Rune of Reanimation: Summons a Dead at the position of any non-Dead, non-General enemy unit that dies while poisoned.
  • Spirit Deads: While holding the center tower, Spirit Deads will periodically spawn from it (up to 4 at a time depending on level). Spirit Deads do not cost population.
  • Summoning Staff: Summons a Dead at the player's frontline when they cast a Spell.
  • Marrowkai's Summon: Raises 4 Deads around the Marrowkai.

Deads summoned by Rune of Reanimation and Summoning Staff have less health and damage than regular Deads.
